Lynton Scotland was born on the island of Dominica in 1960, in the west coast village of St. Joseph.
He attended the St. Joseph Government School, Dominica Grammar School, and Central High School on St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. A leader of Future Farmers of America and an oil refinery technician at Hess Refinery in St. Croix, Lynton blazed a trail to the University of Dayton, Ohio, where he graduated with a BS in chemical engineering.
He graduated with an MS in data analytics from Rutgers University. He has held senior C-suit positions in major US corporations such as Hercules, NRG, Wl.L. Gore, Dupont Labs, and Con Edison.
At one point, he made rocket fuel for the US Shuttle Spacecraft and missiles. Married to Collette Bruney of LaPlaine, Dominica, Lynton has also led civic and community development causes in the United States, Dominica, and the US Virgin Islands. In 2018 he was named to the top 100 African Americans in corporate America. Truly, Lynton has lived an exemplary life born of academic excellence and a dedication to giving back to his alma mater, his region of birth, and the communities where he has lived.
